Lyanna is a long, elegant dairy style doe. She's a confident, easy-going goat and a pleasure to work with. She took to the show ring like a duck to water and has had some wonderful feedback from the judges. 

Lyanna freshened with a beautiful soft textured udder with lovely teat length and great orifices. She is easily my favourite to milk by hand. As a 14 month old first freshener she earned her Q* milk award with DGSA, only missing her volume star by 30 grams. With a butterfat of 7.73%, she earned the award for "Highest butterfat in a 24hr test" by DGSA Tasmania for the 2023/2024 year.

In 2024 Lya took again to AI, this time to Hetland Creek GL Gibson. She produced a lovely, upstanding, masculine buck kid we named Lakland. To our knowledge he was the first offspring of Gibson in Australia. As we already had her son Lycan by Watermark, we offered Laki for sale and he went to a lovely home in NSW.

As a second freshener, Lya milked 1.81kg at 7.98% butterfat 44 days into her lactation, easily qualifying for her volume star with DGSA. She has blossomed into a very impressive doe, demonstrating so many of the qualities we are striving to produce in our goats. We were thrilled when she brought home our first homebred Best in Show and Best Udder result with AGB. Then she followed up with our first homebred Best Exhibit and our only Best Udder award with DGSA from the DGSA Tasmania Branch show 2024. 

We are so excited for Lya's future and how she is helping shape the trajectory of our stud. Fingers crossed for a doe kid next season!
